Horizon is being tested by Intertek-Semko to provide further testing, evaluation, and certification to receive the ETL mark, the equivalent to a UL mark in the United States. While this mark is discretionary and not required in all regions, some jurisdictions require documentation that any electrical equipment be certified by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory's (NRTL) and carry a certain inspection marking such as UL (Underwriter's Laboratores) or ETL (Intertek-Semko). NRTL marks are recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). As of November 2005, Horizon equipment did not currently carry a NRTL mark as testing is still underway. Check your local jurisdiction prior to ordering to determine if a NRTL mark is required.
